Multiple Errors with SBS 2003

I have a SBS 2003 server which crashed when swapping over my external backup hard drives, this happens very frequently, the server just freezes and has to be hard rebooted, normally there is no problem but today some issues occurred and I need some assistance.

1) Obviously I need to address the reason as to why the SBS Server 2008 freezes when swapping hard drives over, no errors are displayed in the event log and the drive letters are set to Q: which should not cause any conflicts either, neither of these seem to resolve the issue, any assistance here would be appreciated.

2) The server stopped responding on the hard reboot to any clients and all ping requests stated 'Destination host not found', I ran the Internet Email & Connection Wizard and it failed configuring the firewall, I then checked the event log and it outlined that IPSEC Block had been enabled so I disabled the service and rebooted then re-enabled the service as requested and it seems to have restored access to the server and all services.

3) Looking at the Event Log it is also showing Event ID: 7023 - The Remote Access Connection Manager service terminated with the following error:
The specified module could not be found

4) The Internet Email & Connection Wizard still fails when attempting to configure the firewall.

5) The only critical issue outlined on the SBS 2003 BPA is: Task offloading is enabled.

The other issues show a few more items but the only one that stands out is Company Web is not using .Net Framework 1.14322, I think this is because there was a problem when configuring GFI and it was modified to version 4 which broke OWA so it was changed back to a lower version which fixed the problem. I am not sure if this needs to be exactly as stated here and whether the version being different could cause the IECW to fail configuring the firewall.

The major issue I have is to fix the IECW because although everything seems to be working correctly at the moment I am uncertain if anything may not function correctly due to the firewall aspect failing. IECW Log file errors are outlined below, everything else seems to show OK:

calling RegisterMSBOExchangeBP (0).
Error 0x1 returned from call to RegisterMSBOExchangeBP().

Error 0x8007041d returned from call to IISConfig Set().
Error 0x8007041d returned from call to CRFireCommit::Commit().

Any help would be appreciated.

Tahir2008 - any update on this? Did my solution work?
Sorry Diverseit, I haven't had time to test as I need to virtualise the current server to a test environment then perform the above to see if it resolves the issues, I will update as soon as possible, I am on the case. :)
Thanks for the update. Keep me posted!
Just checking in...any new developments?
Hi Tahir2008,

How can I help? Are you still working on this? Take care.

I'm here when you need me!
Hi,

We have decided to upgrade the server by the end of the year so this issue is no longer going to be a problem and is therefore not going to be investigated further. Thanks for the assistance I am sure it will come in handy for others with a similar issue.

Although the solution has not been tested this answer provided the logical steps to cover to look at resolving the problem.
