Helo All,
I have a client with a single-server AD domain. One of the RAID5 HD's in the server's array has failed and has caused multiple problems. I know RAID5 can support a drive failure, but this is one of Dell's SW RAID controllers and doesn't work worth a crap.
The server was caught in a reboot loop and I disabled Automatic Restart only to discover that I have to run Directory Services Restore/Repair mode. Of course, this is the only DC in the domain, so I get the 'No logon servers...." error. The client has been using Symantec System Restore and I'm figuring the only solution is a restore from there.
However, I don't have a lot of confidence in the backups and thought I'd throw this out there to the experts. Since the server won't start I can't add a 2nd DC to the domain, so I got a dilemma.
Anybody heard of any other tools or whatnot to fix this up?
Thanks for any replies or comments.
