How to Uninstall Office 2013 Monthly Updates - Application failing after installing July Update
After the most recent July 9th Office update, a feature on an application we use stopped working. The application has an Email button, which opens a new email and puts a PDF attachment in it.
It was working fine with the June version (15.0.4505.1510), but when the July version was applied (15.0.4517.1005), it fails. Specifically we now get the error message attached.
We are running Office 2013 Home & Business 32 bit on Windows 7 Pro 32 bit.
It looks like Microsoft bundles a bunch up updates into 1 package they now call an office update. However neither the .1510 update or individual updates are in the installed updates list in programs and features.
I want to either back out the July update, or fix the problem, but can't figure out how to do either. I would think the backout would be easier, but it doesn't seem like it's straight forward.
Any help is appreciated.
Also we are running outlook 2013, using Office 365's exchange product. We can send and receive emails perfect through outlook itself as well as sending from applications like word, excel, etc.

Could you post the error information from the application and event log?
The Microsoft Article below does not appear to contain information on uninstalling the updates (not all Microsoft updates can be uninstalled. But it does suggest doing a Repair.

I don't know how many machines you have, but another approach would be to uninstall Office, restart and install it again. See, then, if you can avoid doing the updates.
I have the latest updates on my own Office 2013 installation and they seem to work fine.

I did do a repair, and also I uninstalled and reinstalled. It didn't work. I believe when you install new, it automatically downloads the most recent patches as part of the install, there is no option not to , but after the new install I checked and it was already the July package. I have 21 PC's. It seems MS has removed any optional or advanced install options.
I'll get the application and event logs and post them.
Also, the July package as Office 2013 works fine, but its the interface with this other application that breaks getting the error message in the image attached. I realize this is a 3rd party application, (I've contacted them as well), but since it worked fine under the June package and breaks for the July, it seems to point to something in July's update that causes the problem...

This is the July update also as an FYI. I have looked through this trying to see if anything would cause that MAPI error and I don't see anything that jumps out at me, but thought I'd post this anyway as a reference.

That points more to a problem with the application you are using than with Office.

Office 365/2013 does a streaming install, so it might be possible to go to your Office Account while it is streaming, click on the Office Updates pull down and disable the updates before the install finishes.
The updates were patches for Click to Run and that may have something to do with your application.
Can you re-write it or put it together differently? The Office updates will just keep coming.

I thought at first the application too, but, it worked fine with the june update, then broke with the july update. It might not be a problem with the package itself, but maybe MS changed something that cause the application to break.
Do you know if there is anyway to back out an office package update? At least I can get working again until I talk to the application developers to see whats going on..

I looked in a number of places and diligently. I do not see a way to back out Office 2013 updates.
Try the install again and see if you can get to Disable Updates before the install completes. That setting is part of the Office Account.

The message does not shed a lot of light for me. Just reading the log, it says Search is a problem.
Is Search running properly, and might it be trying to index a Server folder?
