I can't seem to find any useful information on google or Microsoft regarding this question.  I basically need to temporarily run a few hyper-v VM's from an external hard drive (la Cie P'9240, 2 TB drive).  This drive has a way to turn off "going to sleep" mode, so that's good.  It also has an external power supply.  Other attempts using USB powered hard drives failed.

We have run out of hard drive space locally on the hyper-v server and I need this to work as a temp. solution until we get the SAN in place.

Ideas?  Thanks in advance!
