Best method to file share with a Windows 2008 server and Remote Office using terminal server

What is the best method to file share with a Windows 2008 server and Remote Office using terminal server.  Currently have a file server running folder sharing and local users saving files on the server.  My remote office users (XP and Win7) want to access the same files mostly Word, Excel and PDF files.  Any suggestions, tips or directions would be greatly appreciated?

1. If the terminal server is moved to the main office (providing you have sufficient bandwidth for clients) then you can keep all the files/resources in the main office. This would make the backup process simpler as well.

2. You can enable the branch cache feature on the server. With sufficient space allocated on the server, this could be as effective as DFS.

3. DFS of course is still a very valid option. You can enable replication between the  sites and have users working on the local copy of the file. File locking is unfortunately still not supported with DFS so you will run into version conflicts when multiple users edit the same file.

4. Use manual sync with a tool like like Microsoft sync toy.

Server is local for the main office.  Remote users are running off a dsl connection using RDP.
If all remote users are connecting over DSL via RDP, then you should really consider option 1. Just host everything at the main office, let the users access files from their RDP sessions.

How do I setup the share access for the remote users on a RDP sessions?  I'm able to get the local users shared okay, but can't seam to find how to get the RDP users to see the shares on their desktop.
