Recording of video / audio of a CBT (Computer Based Training)

There's a CBT which used Adobe Flash player :

I used SnagIt to record it & the video was recorded but
there's no audio / sound recorded.

Is there any freeware or tool (or did I miss something
in the trial copy of SnagIt which saved the recording
in MP4 format) that I can use to record the CBT (which
plays in a browser ) ?  Ideally a common format like
MP4 or something that could be easily played back
(like VCD, DVD or in Realplayer)

If one is on a website viewing or using flash player the CBT  would not the audio be playing come out of your speakers (system audio) ?

So where does configuring the microphone/stereo mix come into this?

I hv both Win XP SP2 as well as Windows 7 Professional.

If recording 2 audio sources, will the sound recorded be garbled?

By "System Audio", it means sound data that comes in via the
LAN is recorded & by "microphone", it means sounds that are
output from the microphone jack?

If recording from "microphone", do I need to have an audio cable from
the headphone jack inserted into the mic jack on my laptop for the
recording to take place?
2 sources = garbled, can be as there will be a delay from one source to the other.
System Audio is the output going to the speakers
Microphone jack is an input not an output.
headphone output cable  2 microphone input -- not needed
just record the system audio.

You may want to go into the volume control mixer and mute all but the web application to eliminate any stray sounds being recorded.

> sunhux please just tell me why the head phones and mic .
As I could hear the sounds on the headphones, I thought of
recording what comes out from headphones, not from mic.

> Is this a Laptop or desktop?
It's a laptop

> You want to record sound coming from a mic.?
No from the headphone.

> Where is it pointing to? your speakers??
From headphone/speaker, & get it recorded into MP4 file.

> Another computer?? you have there playing through its speakers?
> via a Lan to this computer?
I'm sure the CBT is on the LAN: so if we could record the sound
data that's coming in thru the LAN into an MP4 file (instead of
out from the headphone jack), that wud be wonderful
