Delegate permissions don't stick

I go into a user's Exchange account in Outlook 2010 and set permissions for a delegate.  I save them and get no error, but when I go back in they are not there and therefore I can't get to the user's Inbox from the delegate's computer.  Help!

Check if user part of any protect group. Check the admin count value using adsiedit tool. If admin count is 1 that means users is part of protected group and that's why permissions are getting revoked by AD.

Admin count was not set....  I set it to 0 to see if that made a difference and it didn't.
Today I discovered that I can set permissions for the calendar and they stick, just not for the Inbox.  So it's even stranger...

Do you mean the user who is trying to delegate, or the one who is trying to be the delegate?
I ended up having to recreate the profile.  Still, a very strange issue.
