Login Screen appearing during the day
I have many users that during the day they are requested to login (validate credintials) for the domain. any clues as to what is causing this issue
Typically this is caused by changed or expired passwords and the cached credentials in the computer are not updated because the password was changed externally to the computer.

Does it say the computer is logged in but press CTL+ALT+DEL to unlock the computer?
Check the screen saver timeout, there is a box to display logon screen on resume.

If it's just a credentials box that pops up it could be because UAC (user account control) is set too high and it's prompting them when they try to do anything that UAC controls. If that's the case try lowering the setting.
