Hello,

what would you like to achieve?

- You can attach a file to a list that has an attachment column
- You can upload an Excel file to a document library
- You can create a list from values stored in an Excel spreadsheet

If it's the third option you're after, there is a list template called "From Excel File" or some such.

What version of SharePoint?

cheers, teylyn

I would like to be able to add new items from an upload instead of manually entering them in my list. Lets say I have 100 open items in my list and today I need to add 100 new items. Instead of manually keying these into 'Add New Item' I would like to be able to import them.

I am using 2010.
SharePoint 2010 does not support synchronising with an Excel file (earlier versions did). For many lists you can display the Datasheet view and then copy and paste the values from Excel. If you have simple text or number values, you can possibly paste the whole 100 rows in one go. Or, if you have many new records, paste them one column at a time.

cheers, teylyn
Hi,
what you can do is using a macro/vba code to utilize the Sharepoint web service to add the records to the list.
