4 Port USB KM

I hope someone can point me in the right direction with this. I am trying to locate a 4 port USB KM, I am not looking for a KVM. One of my clients has 4 computers that all need to be controlled from one KB & mouse but they need to retain the present 4 monitor setup, they need to view multiple applications simultaneously.

If anyone has a product that they can recommend, I would be very grateful.

Thanks Mark

Hi Mark,
I've been using this for more than two years:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000I96BL0/

Works perfectly! Has never failed to switch properly and has never frozen! I have one of them in an office with four computers and have two of them in a second office (daisy-chained) with six computers. So if your client goes to more than four computers...no problem...just add a second switch, then run one of the ports from one switch into the device-to-be-shared port of the other one. This will handle seven computers! I suppose you could keep daisy-chaining, but two is the most I've done (and can vouch for). Anyway...fabulous product and reasonably priced.

One other point: this unit switches just one device. What I have is a keyboard with a built-in USB hub, so the mouse is plugged into the keyboard...so when I switch the keyboard, the mouse comes along with it, since it's plugged into the keyboard. If you don't have a keyboard with a hub and need to switch two devices (a separate keyboard and mouse), then get a small form-factor 2-port hub, like this:

Make this the device that is switched and, of course, plug the keyboard and mouse into it. Regards, Joe
You might consider a software solution.  Synergy is a program that lets you use one keyboard and mouse with multiple computers, each with it's own monitor.  You install the program on each computer and define the one with the keyboard and mouse as the server and define the physical location of each screen.  When you move the mouse to the edge of the main screen it seamlessly jumps to the next screen.  It looks like you are working with multiple monitors on one computer, but you are actually jumping from computer to computer. I have used Synergy for years and it works great.

Hi Mark,
I'm wondering if you've tried any of the proposed solutions yet. Regards, Joe

Hi Mark,
Don't mean to be a pest, but I'm trying to clean up a number of open questions, and noticed that another month has gone by on this one. Please provide an update. Thanks, Joe
