NetApp Replication Throttling
I am seeing two different areas where we can specify the bandwidth usage for SnapMirror replication, and wanted to know the difference.
The first place, is the command that we run on our source NetApp:
options replication.throttle.outgo ing.max_kb s 1024
The second place is in the OnCommand System Manager 2.0:
SnapMirror -> Choose a Source Volume -> and in the details section you see this setting .... Data Transfer Rate (kbps)
Please confirm if my suspicions are correct. The first command was a system wide setting that no total sum of outgoing bandwidth can exceed the bandwidth specified in the command. While in the second setting, you can specify the maximum bandwidth per volume. The second setting seems to be more granular. Please confirm if this is true.
Thanks.
