HOW TO UNENCRYPT AN ENCRYPTED (TRUECRYPT) FILE?
My friend had Truecrypt installed on his laptop and accidently formatted his drive. He was able to recover the files but they show as encrypted.
How could we unencrypt these recovered files?
NOTE: The files are now on a different computer w/o truecrypt installed.

If you don't have the password, you can forget it. That's the point of encryption and making your own encryption key.
Hopefully he knows the password.

Thanks.
Thanks.
You need Truecrypt installed. Once installed, run it, "select file", browse to your file and put in the password. It should mount to an available drive letter.
