Dell R710 LCD E171F PCIe Fatal Error
I have a Dell R710 Server that indicates "E171F PCIe Fatal Error on Bus 0 Device 4 Function 0" flashing across the LCD.
How do I determine which expansion card is the issue without powering down the server? I look at Server Manager which shows 4 PCI slots but also indicates "Not Occupied". Does this mean that the system is reporting on a slot being bad and not necessarily an expansion card?
I have not been successful locating a solution that does not require powering the server down.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hi Michael,
According to the instructions, the expansion cards should be reseated; there are no expansion cards installed in this system.
Thanks again,
Adel

Thanks Michael and PowerEdgeTech,
I decided to power down and reseat the memory, riser and raid controller cards; it appears to have cleared the display error. PowerEdge you mentioned if it is referring to slot 4 then the riser or motherboard could be bad....all the slots are empty, so if the error returns it will be the first thing I check.
Thanks again,
Adel
