Old PATA-disk from win95 in winXP

Hello
I've got an old Quantum ST16A011 IDE-disk and try to read on an old XP-pc.  I can connect the disk and the disk is found by windows but doesnt come up in my computer (no volumes found).  Any suggestions to software I can use to read the drive?
Thanks.

Check within diskmanagement whether you can assign the partitions on that disk drive letters, and if yes you should then be able to read it's contents. If not, scan it with the fat version of getdataback, and if the data is seen register it so you can copy the data off. If that doesn't help either, and the data is important and you lost the backups, send it to a professional recovery agency.

Disk management says disk space is not assigned. I get the option to create a new volume, but that would delete the old data I suppose. I know the drive is OK, because I can boot the old win95-pc from it. Any other ideas how to tranfer data.  Laplink from win95 to xp is the easier way?
