Restore Sage Act using original files instead of backup

Have a customer whose laptop disk has failed.  The laptop had Sage Act on it - both the live files and the backups.

We have recovered the live files, but not the backups.

There are around a dozen different databases - half of them work fine - the other half will not open giving various error messages.

In theory, should we be able to open the databases if we have all the original files?  I've edited the PAD files so they have the correct location details.

I have tried reindexing and repair using actdiag, but this throws up errors as well.  Here's Some examples of the errors received when trying to open the databases:

Database 1
When opening get "The database you are opening must be updated to a newer version..."
Click Yes to Backup, receive "Completed database backup with errors"
Click OK and get "ACT will update the database..."
Click OK and get "Cannot insert the value NULL into the column 'SQLUSER', table 'Database1.dbo.CTL_EVENTLOG'; column does not allow nulls.  INSERT fails...."

Database2
Same results up to "ACT will update the database..."
Click OK - shows "Updating" for 10 seconds then get "Exceptions occurred while executing the database Schema Update Script..." and in the logs it shows the following:

"Failed to flush the commit table to disk in dbid 15 due to error 2601"

Is there any way to get these databases functioning properly again?

Spot on with the first one - thanks!

Oddly, after applying this fix to one of the databases - all other databases now open fine.
Excellent ... you can close the question now :-)
