Create VPN between Mikrotik RB450 and Linksys RV042
I am attemting to establish a VPN between a RB450G and RV042.
I currently have a VPN connection with 2 RV042s and need to replace one of them with the RB450G.

I have /24 (255.255.255.0) subnets on both ends : IPSec : IKE with Preshare key - 3DES / MD5

I followed a sample at http://gregsowell.com/?p=787 but I cannot establish a connection ... Any help will be appreciated.

If it means anything ... The linksys has Group 1, 2, 5

The Mikrotik has ec2n 155 & 185
modp 768, 1024, 1536, 2048, 3072, 4096, 6144

I don't know the proper match

Here is a post that illustrates a site to site setup for Mikrotik. It is very different and I don't know anything about them.

You want a match on Mikrotik for the 3 variables: DH Group2, DES and MD5.

Any reasonable combination of groups is fine so long as they match on both ends.

Good to hear that it is running.

The Mikrotik DH Group does not match up with the Linksys.  You will need to see the Mikrotik documentation of Groups to align.  Once done everything else in the video will let you setup the IPSec VPN.  Thinkpads made me think about the Group type as the issue.

A router is a networking device that forwards data packets between computer networks. Routers perform the "traffic directing" functions on the Internet. The most familiar type of routers are home and small office cable or DSL routers that simply pass data, such as web pages, email, IM, and videos between computers and the Internet. More sophisticated routers, such as enterprise routers, connect large business or ISP networks up to the powerful core routers that forward data at high speed along the optical fiber lines of the Internet backbone. Though routers are typically dedicated hardware devices, use of software-based routers has grown increasingly common.
