SBS2011 Backup to network shard drive.

We just recently started backing up to a western digital live network drive.  we created a Backup folder on the drive and Password protected the folder.. When I setup backup it asks for the username and Password of the credentials to access the folder on the network drive.

For some reason the backup does not run at night. When I log into the server and do a manual backup it works. The server does see the backup destination.

Does anyone know why it is not backing up at night.

Is it possible a device is going to sleep?  Have you checked the event log?  Are you sure the manual backup works or does it just appear to?  Check the size of the backup on the WD.  I've also seen strange problems due to heat in office buildings that shut the A/C off at night.

It has an option to take it off of sleep mode and I did when I first setup the backup. its a power saving feature. Its odd I just ran a backup and its doing incremental backups to a network share. I thought SBS does not do that. And it tells me that it finished 100% no errors.
no errors in Event viewer.
it seems that if I don't log off the admin the backup runs. If I log off it doesn't run over night.
How is the server connected to the WD drive via USB, eSATA, mapped drive?
its connected to the network. Ethernet.  and the folder had a username and password that I created on the drive. when I setup SBSBackup it asks for the credentials that I created on that folder. and the Setup for SBSBackup finishes.  But it will not backup at the scheduled Time.
