And if you want to open the new item page inside of a dialog (popup), please follow these steps:

Hi Rainer,
Thanks for the response.
My idea is to open a new item form directly from quick launch.
I don't want user to come inside the list at all.

I tried right click > properties, it said : javascript: as address.

Also tried my custom list with pasting /NewForm.aspx?RootFolder= after list name but not working.

sorry, could you please re-try to explain me.
Hi,
it is not necessary for the user to go into the list.
Assuming you want to open the new item page without being shown as popup:
1.Go to "Site Actions" -> "Site settings" -> "Look and feel" -> "Quick launch"
2. Click on "New Navigation Entry"
3. Enter the url
http://yoursharepoint.com/sites/yoursite/lists/yourlist/newform.aspx
4. Add a description for the link
5. Click OK

To test that your URL is working, just open another tab in IE or Firefox and enter the url. If the new item page is opened, copy this url. If the page does not open, verify that there is no custom new page created.
