Exchange 2010 cannot send or receive internal mail

Dear All,

just finish migrate exchange 2003 to exchange 2010, I just create a new mailbox in exchange 2010 for testing, I can send or receive email to external. but can;t send or receive from existing exchange 2003, I know this should be the routing connector error. I did remove all routing connector and use new-routinggroupconnector to rebuild but still no luck.

Hi,

I think you should verify the permissions "Routing group connectors" & test the connector is used for one-way or two-way mail flow New-RoutingGroupConnector
you would need to create additional routing connector, Please refer the below command and its referenced article also

New-RoutingGroupConnector -Name "Interop RGC" -SourceTransportServers "Ex2010Hub1.contoso.com" -TargetTransportServers "Ex2003BH1.contoso.com" -Cost 10 -Bidirectional $true

Dear Both,

I did use new-routinggroupconnector to create two-way mail flow, but still cannot send/recevive email for internal
Avatar of Mohammed Tahir
For smooth mailflow between Exchange 2003 & Exchange 2010 there should be routing group connector between 2003 to 2010 and vice versa.

Also ensure you can successfully telnet both the servers from another one.

Tahir
Please restart the "Routing Engine" service in Exchange 2003 and try to telnet also

The e-mail account does not exist at the organization this message was sent to.  Check the e-mail address, or contact the recipient directly to find out the correct address.

I figured it out. Looks like I didnt search hard enough. Under the properties for the SMTP Virtual Server on Exchange 2003 and then Under the Access tab and Authentication, I needed to have Integrated Windows Authentication checked.

by the way I am happy to split the point which give me a way to go..
