Computer can access domain network but not internet if not connected to domain.
In our office environment, I have attempted to connect a laptop to a network switch to access ethernet rather than using Wi-Fi. It is not joined to the domain and will not be. It is meant to be an offsite laptop, but the setup of programs etc will take place on site. Internet is required but Wi-Fi is simply too slow. Once the ethernet cable is connected, it list the connection as seeing the domain network. "company.local" but says "no internet access". All other computers on Wi-Fi or on the domain have no issues.
I have tried the following:
ipconfig/release
ipconfig/renew
ipconfig/flushdns
ipconfig/registerdns (as admin)
disable, reenable adapter
checked and tried to update NIC driver, already UTD
ipconfig/all shows correct gateway, dhcp and dns server and a dhcp ip address has been assigned properly.
In the Windows Server 2012 DHCP, the computer shows up with an IP assigned through leasing. No issues there. Also tried restart, Windows update through Wi-Fi and disabled all Firewall connections on new laptop.
Is there something I might be missing as far as the internet connection relates to the domain network goes? Many thanks!

Wow, that's interesting. I gave the laptop a static IP that was not assigned to anyone and Voila...connection without any other issues. I wonder why that is...The first IP that the server had assigned it didn't work. It wasn't assigned to anyone else. I had even tried making the first IP static and that didn't resolve the issue either. Well this is definitely a trick I am going to keep in mind. Thank you very much for your prompt and rapid response.
FYI, I also tried to disable IPV6 to no avail unfortunately. Pinging websites also failed before this due to no internet access. But thank you again!

So does it mean it has to be with static ip all the time???
if you have to do the same thing with other PCs, then giving static IPs to all is not a best practice, has to be DYNAMICALLY assigned. Got to be other way.
Strange Microsoft, loll.

I am going to now try to assign it dynamically again to see it it makes a difference. Because, you are right, I do not want to keep it static if I don't need to. The rest of the PC's are not statically. Some connections are like, printers but that's about it. I will let you know what I find!
What I do is leave it static for a few days then go back to dhcp and it seems to keep that address that you gave it statically anyway.
I know this is old but I just had to "fix" this issue. I couldn't get the on-board NIC to get out of this state, "company.local" but says "no internet access," so I put in a PCI NIC and had the same issue. My solution was to remove it from the Domain, restart, and then rejoin it to the Domain. After that I had both a connection to the Intranet and Internet.
- Did you try pinging the websites???
