sybase license issue

Hi,
I have 2 questions for sybase experts.

1. We have bought 20 seat sybase license and while applying it is giving issue saying license file is not valid. how to check whether license file is correct as per license bought?

2. Also downloaded open client, does it also require license and will it covered under actual license we have?

Please share insight on this.

If you're running on any UNIX variety there is a known bug where SySAM doesn't always correctly check out licenses. I don't think that's your issue since you say you're getting an error on the license file itself, not on a license.

Still, try adding
ulimit -n 9999

in the Sybase login's profile.

For your other question, Sybase Open Client needs to be licensed in that you must be considered to be licensed for it, but it is not handled by SySAM. You'll need to check the exact wording of your ASE license but buying a seat license usually implicitly includes the license to use the client-side software for that many seats.
Actually we checked with Sybase team and final conclusion was license we got is wrong one. They have given us seated license but ASE server license was missing. Got new license file from them and working to deploy that now.

Thanks for response on this.
