Printer install using workgroup manager
Using 10.8.4 server and 10.8.4 clients
The network printer is not shared on the server
The server is not a print server
I am trying to add printers to Macs using workgroup manager (WGM), on the server I add the printer by IP address, choosing the protocol 'Line Print Daemon' (have tried 'Jet direct protocol' too), the server finds it, and identifies as the correct HP3005 printer and can print to it, BUT once I add this printer to WGM and log into a Mac all that will print is a document that says:
"pdf file not printed. 128MB of memory is required to enable direct pdf printing"
I am testing with a tiny text document (and tried other docs too)
any ideas?
