New Facebook Account - Friend & People You May Know

I created a new Facebook account with an e-mail address that nobody knows and never imported any contacts.  I don't have any address or phone information stored.

I have been seeing People You May Know for people I actually know.  How can this be?  How can I completely ensure that nobody sees anything.

FB uses a number of tactics to match people up. Same area, school details, work details etc.
How can I completely ensure that nobody sees anything.
Don't use Facebook!

Even though it offers suggestions it is not giving these people your information.

Hi,

That's the issue - I haven't filled out my profile at all - no school, job history, etc.
When you signed up you gave them information
i gave them an e-mail address only that doesn't include my name.
When you sign up you give your name, DOB and gender. From your IP address they also know where you are/live.
not a chance.  I signed up on a public computer and took a DOB of 1988 - I'm a lot older than that.  The account is vanilla - no information.
Public computer where?
If there is no other information then the IP must be what they are using.
Im in technology - I used a MiFi that does not have my name attached to it.  The company that owns it is not public knowledge to the suggested friends.
Did you look at anyones facebook page while logged in?
Is the IP address local to the suggested friends?
They have made the connection somewhere, from when you have been logged in, visited a blog or something.
i looked at a business web site 2 states away and liked them and then unliked them.  Would that have done it? If so after reviewing all of the privacy settings I still see Friends You May Know, etc.

This is the very reason I hate FB.
