Creating a reusable Php Database Class

Hi folks I need a class to manage my database connections, and since I tried very hard to interact with any of the ones I found and couldn't make head over tails, a class indication with some explanation would be greatly appreciated.

You can use the MySQLi class.  Or the PDO class.  Or you can extend these with your own classes.  Both of these are documented in this article that shows the mapping from the familiar MySQL extension to the newer extensions.
