BIOS Crash

I have a user that brought me her Toshiba L755-55216 Satellite laptop.  She told me that she accidently ran a BIOS update (how you accidently do that I don't know) and now her computer is a paper weight.  I tried booting the computer but nothing happens.  The power light comes on but the screen stays totally blank.  I don't even know where to start.  Any help would be appreciated.
