Cannot RDP to 2008 R2

I am unable to RDP to a windows 2008 R2 server. I am using a local server account, it is a member of the Administrators and Remote Desktop Users groups.

I can RDP to the server fine with a domain account but when I try to login with the local server account I created I receive the following message.

Did you add the local account account into Remote Desktop Users groups?

Also check that there is no policy/GPO that might cause this.

Ratnesh MishraCommented:
Or simply you can add the account to the remote access of the Server ,that will also give you the RDP access.
Craig BeckCommented:
Depending on the security template applied to the server you might have to edit the security policy manually to allow the user to log in via RDP.

This might help...

This allowed me to determine that they local administrator was setting this value via group policy and had to have them add the local system account to the AD group they were providing the permissions to.
