Onbase Scanning softwar, Fujitsu 5530, scanning multidensity pages

I am working with a document library type software named Onbase. It is using a utility called Kofax VRS. We are scanning in production packets which include a wide array of ink densities and are now coming across some dot matrix pages which have extremely light ink, pair this with thin paper and we end up with wash out. I have spent hours adjusting the brightness, contrast, and gamma and wow... if I make it to see one it makes everything else shadowy... I have spent hours and the doc scanning is pretty high volume so I don't want to eat up too much of their productivity time.

Anyone know of a helpful resource or good settings to remedy this situation?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You could also try putting some thicker paper behind these pages so the light doesn't just pass through the thinner paper and wash everything out.

This is a doc feeding scanner.... how would I go about getting the paper behind it to stay?

Contact Fujitsu and they might have settings for you to change or provide you different bulbs.

Basically I have to create multiple profiles and they will have to split scanning depending on the documents. They will love that :)))
