I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

First of all, Websphere is a family of products.  I assume from the "Application Servers" tag that you mean Websphere Application Server.  Is that correct?

IBM is far and away the best resource.  They've got a huge amount of free content, tutorials, manuals, Redbooks, etc.  Here's a good place to start to get an idea on what's out there:

Next question is, when you say you want to "learn websphere", what do you mean?

Do you want to learn how to install WAS?  Maintain it?  Upgrade it?  Configure it?  Administer it?  Install applications?  Troubleshoot performance?  Configure security? These are the functions that a Websphere Administrator might perform.

Or do you mean that you want to learn to write applications, web services, EJBs, servlets, portlets, etc. that RUN in WAS?  These are functions that a developer would typically perform, though in some environments developers also perform administration tasks.  In that case, you probably want to look at Rational Application Developer - which is the Eclipse-based development environment commonly used to build and deploy applications to WAS:

Thank you very much.

First I want to know how to install on Windows/Solaris/Linux? What packages, and then how to deploy a small web applications? And then how to develop?
