FBWF on Thin Client with Anti virus installed

I have WYSE C90 thin client with Windows Standard 7. My question is about what to set FBWF.

If I disable the write filter, how the Anti virus gets updates of the data file? If I enable it, it seems we lose the purpose of thin client.

Thank you for your help

If the Write Filter is on, why do you need an anti-virus?  If the system cannot write to the disk, neither can anything that installs a virus.

the device is on the network, so it should have AV. Until you press the reset or logoff, any file is saved on RamDisk. So that's potential threat.

You could update the AV signatures manually.

Update manually includes, turn write filter off, reboot, update AV, turn write filter on, reboot. Doing that everyday, sometime a couple of times a day based upon AV updates, is not practical.

Use Microsoft Security Essentials or Intune and the updates will appear on the administration console

FBWF allows exclusions so exclude the anti-virus definition location.
