secure connection between two sites using the internet

Other than VPN, is there another way to secure two sites with two geographic locations over the internet?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It depends on what resources you wish to share between the two sites. If you only wish to share files between sites, then a SkyDrive/DropBox/GoogleDrive based solution might do the trick. If you also want to share software, then a Remote Desktop based solution might work.

However if you wish to share other types of resources that rely on LAN functionality, then a VPN would be your best bet.
Yes a VPN will work fine.......must that missed the bit without VPN :-(

A leased line maybe?
