Windows 8 Machines will not open store app
I have installed several windows 8 machines on my domain. Whenever i try to open up the windows store app it will open and then immediately close with no error message. The event log only shows this error:
Activation of app winstore_cw5n1h2txyewy!Win
When i go to run the RemoveWindowsStoreApp script, there are no apps listed to remove.
Re installing windows 8 fixes the issue. I'm wondering if i am missing some files. I've run the app troubleshooter and check disk repair and sfc /scannow. It does not fix the issue.
Any ideas?

For some reason only the store and IE icon show in the metro screen. All the default apps that should be there when you install Windows 8 are missing.
See if you can open Store, right click and then select Your Apps. You should see a list, and on the right hand side, you should you the number of apps you can update.
Your install might have gone wrong. In this case try running Windows 8 Refresh. Action Center, Recovery, bottom link.

When i try to open the store it automatically closes. I have copied over and replaced the C:\windows\winstore folder and this issue still exsists. Is there another folder that the store app runs off of?

i have this problem so cannot upgrade to windows 8.1.
I cannot use the ISO as it does not accept oem versions of windows 8.
Is there a way to reinstall the app store without refreshing the laptop.

As per an above post, you can go to Metro, Store and look at installed apps and try to update those. That is the only way I know without running Refresh.

but when I click on the store icon on the metro it flashes up and then disappears. Its the store I cant get on to?

You could have done something to the app that reinstall has corrected.
Also, make certain UAC (User Access Control) is turned ON. The Store will not work with UAC off.
Does the Store icon show up in the Metro screen?
