Windows Server 2008 having 2 network card with same subnet but can only work with 1 NIC

I have configure 2 NIC card both in the same VLAN. Both has the same gateway, I have configured 1 NIC to be load balanced.

It has been working fine for almost a year, and all of a sudden after a firewall test were done on the network and now I am unable to ping 1 of the NIC card. We have revert the firewalls settings.

See attached for the route table if this could help me solve the issue.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

First of all, the attachment is missing.  Next, best practice is to have only one card with a gateway.  If you need load-balancing then you should consider NIC-teaming to ensure load is distributed across both NICs.

Not sure how you load balance one nic?
Team the cards and have one IP - you can choose load share or fail-over.

The server is a part of unicast NLB. I created a multihome network. It was working fine through out the year until yesterday. Do anyone know where to look?

MGMT Nic - 10.3.5.45
NLB Nic - 10.3.5.51

Vip - 10.3.5.50
on another server

MGMT Nic - 10.3.5.46
NLB Nic - 10.3.5.52
