I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Easy, you execute them on a faster server...

Table hint:
NOEXPAND --will speed up only indexed views

Query hint:
KEEP PLAN or KEEPFIXED PLAN

Note that these options may not result in the best plan, but should result in a plan being generated more quickly, i.e., improved parse/compile time.

More generally, always specify schema names on all objects -- this can drastically reduce the need for SQL to check for possible different schema names, and can allow better sharing of plans, reducing parse/compile time because more users could automatically use the same plan.
