Outlook search doesn't work for me...

Hi,
My Outlook search doesn't work for me...

I even tried Advance Search .. is there a place that may have a Filter set?
Although I see All my emails, then I try and search on something right in front of me.. so I know its there...

What am I doing wrong?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Check the settings under File->Options->Search

The options there are fairly self-explanatory.

Search Results in outlook are a product of Indexed Items on the PC

If you not getting any results, try going into Control Panel, Indexing, Advanced.

Check that Outlook, You mailbox, and any PSTs are included in the Index
Then rebuild your index.

It may take some time and is faster as long as you use your PC to a minimum while the index is rebuilding

Once index complete
Then try your search

Just getting back to this...

I did rebuild the index with no luck...
I just ran the Scanpst.exe
Said small amount found but I fixed anyway.. 80 items..
didn't do any good..

I see emails from Tony so I put tony into the search box - nothing
actually before a turned off the search as I type.. I typed b and stopped and got nothing..
Search doesn't work at all.

When you go into your Indexing Options, via control panel
How many items does it say are indexed?
IN the listed of Indexed Items do you see Outlook?
If you select Modify
Locate outlook and if there's an option to expand the folder, expand it
Are all of outlooks folders selected?

Its actually quite a common issue and MS has a god support page for it

Otherwise

Office 2010 SP2 is recently out

Might try downloading and updating to SP2 and see if it resovles the issue
