Use the Suspend option, when the VM is Powered-ON. (make sure VMware Tools is installed)

Is it the only way??
Andrew Hancock (VMware vExpert / EE MVE^2)VMware and Virtualization ConsultantCommented:
Save in Hyper-V is equivalent to Suspend in VMware vSphere.

What other way, would you like?
Yes, Suspend and Resume feature in Vmware are likely the same as you save the VM in HyperV

The suspend and resume feature is useful when you want to save the current state of your virtual machine, and continue work later from the same state.

Hope this detailed explanation helps?
