Adding Exchange 2013 test server with exchange 2007

We are running Exchange 2007 on multiple servers in our environment.

I've been asked to bring up a 2013 exchange server to co-exsit ASAP.

Is it possible to bring a 2013 online with my 2007 so I can move a couple of users to it?

I know I have to expand the AD schema to support it, but just not sure if it will co-exsit or not without any issues. We are eventually upgrading to 2013 later this year, but I was ask to get one server online now.

Any thoughts on this?

Yes you need to have SP3 on all the Exchange 2007 Servers, and deploy Exchange 2013 From at Least version CU1 (CU2 is available).

This is a migration from 2010 but the process is much the same :)

Kindly go though this article

Which will help you to install Exchange 2013 in an existing exchange 2007 organization.

is there any issue that we need to be aware of before cutting over to 2013 ?
