vSphere VM on multipe datastores

We’ve just created our first vSphere 5 VM with disks on different datastores on our SAN. 3 different datastores to be exact. For all our other VMs all disks are stored on the same/single datastore.

Is there anything we need to be aware of e.g.  vmotioning, storage DRS, backups??
I guess other people do this fine but its our first VM like this, also our most critical and is going straight to production so appreciate any advice.

you can vmotion the VM I don't see any issues or concerns, for storage DRS are you enabling it and do you have same storage profiles applied to the datastores of differnet profiles ?!

Just make sure you document, you have configured and setup like this, and also remember that ALL snapshots for ALL disks will be stored on the datastore where the first disk, or where the virtual machine VMX file is stored.

and check this datastore does not run out of storage space, especially important if using a backup product which snapshots the machine.

Also check that the datastores, are of similar performance.
