visual studio 2012 how do I make the properties window always dock to the bottom of the solution explorer?

I can pin my solution explorer, then drag my properties window to dock to the bottom of it.  So I have a solution explorer with the bottom half being my properties.

If I want to hide the solution explorer to see more screen, the properties window still stays pinned and is no longer a part of the solution explorer.

I want them to always act as one, but be able to hover and view vs going full screen.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

When you drag the Properties window to the bottom of the Solution Explorer, it is not part of it, it is a completely separate window. That is why they do not collapse together.

The only way to have many windows collapse as one is to all include them in the same tabbed window. But then, you cannot display them at the same time.

The only way I see to do what you want might be to write an add-in that reacts to the collapsing of one of the windows, if there is an event for that (not all interaction with the Visual Studio environment generate events). Creating and debugging an add-in is a pain however, so it's worth for something like that.
