download tomcat6

hi,

I went to
http://tomcat.apache.org/download-60.cgi

to download tomcat6 for my vista 32 bit laptop.

I see 2 options relevant to my requirement under core
>>>32-bit Windows zip (pgp, md5)
>>>32-bit/64-bit Windows Service Installer (pgp, md5)

What is the difference between above 2. Which one is best option. What are the advantages, disadvantages choosing one over other

If you want manage Tomcat "windows style" using shortcuts then use the exe.  If you want to manage it more "native style" using the command line then use the zip.  Under the hood they are pretty much the same.  It just depends on what you are more comfortable with.   If you plan to run Tomcat on Linux or Unix in addition to Windows then you might want to go with the zip.

The first one you unzip and start/stop tomcat from command line.
The second one you install and start/stop tomcat from the Start menu of Windows.
