"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

There is no such command in AIX.

The system calls sysconfig() and kmod_load() / kmod_unload are available for kernel extension loading or unloading.

Several IBM or third party applications ship their own executable programs (which in turn would call one of the above functions) to perform this task.

Oracle, for example, has /etc/loadext, Veritas (Symantec) has /etc/methods/vxkextadm for VxFS, OpenAFS has /usr/vice/etc/dkload, support for IBM's Mobile IPv6 functionality is loaded via /usr/sbin/kmodctrl etc.
