Change IP address of an Exchange DAG member

Are there any issues with temporarily changing the IP address of an exchange DAG member?  I am converting an exchange VM to vmware and the ip address changes because of the conversion.  i change the IP address back to what it was but with that server being the active member I can't send emails internally or externally.  I can receive an email if it is sent from the outside.  If I make the other member the active member all the emails I sent for testing will then be received and everything will work fine.  This is exchange 2013 also.
