Vmware root Password:

Hi, I have a vmware Esxi 5.0 host that i forgot its password or it seems it cannot accept the password it initially accepted some months back.How can I access it?Kindly advise

You cannot access it, or reset it. The supported method is to re-install ESXi.

There is a method here which does work, which you can follow, using a Slax Linux Live CD here:- (this also works for 5.x), but we find it often quicker to re-install from cdrom.

You might just try rebooting the host machine if you can. I had a 4.x host do this once on me and I decided, before going through a reinstall, to try rebooting and it did fix the problem.
