Trying to install Exchange 2010 SP2

I'm trying to install Exchange SP2 and maybe 3 if I can get through this and am getting this error. Can someone tell me where I'm going wrong

That article references an initial Exchange install, I'm trying to update an existing one. Will running this take us down in any way?

it won't take anything down; i did SP3 upgrade a few months ago and had issues related to discovery search mailbox and had to do setup with those switches to fix things

any errors with dcdiag on any domain controller? i would also look at that to make sure there aren't any issues there with AD itself that could be causing setup to not be able to apply schema changes

also make sure the user account doing this upgrade is part of schema admins group

while updating schema, you will get the error. could you please confirm ? did you installed "RSAT-ADDS" once you installed "RSAT-ADDS" then you can try again. it will pass the installation.

i don't think that's an issue here since that would have blocked the initial installation, not an upgrade to an existing installation. the error message would have specifically stated to install that if it was missing on the initial exchange install

I got distracted with a few other things and am getting back to this, I tried another download and am getting the same error. I am logged in as the domain admin, in the user groups for that account it lists schema admins

This is that that error file contained

vijayhakcers what is this "RSAT-ADDS" ? I tried looking it up and found nothing. If its something I have to install how do I?

could you please check in your server, whether its installed or not. (RSAT-ADDS)

If not, you should install this prerequisites, please follow the below instruction.

From Powershell (Windows 2008)

Import-Module ServerManager

Add-WindowsFeature RSAT-ADDS

Please note: Make sure all the prerequisites are installed or not
