VoIP AutoQOS Cisco 2960 Shoretel Phones

I have Shoretel phones connected to access mode ports with voice vlan on a Cisco 2960 switch.

Do I just need to turn on AutoQOS ?

auto qos voip trust

I assume this also goes on the grouped 1G fiber trunk?

The new 2960's will connect to a core of Extreme switches.

So what I do for shoretel phones is the following:
First set up lldl - you have to have the right version of phone firmware to support it.  Cisco phones use CDP to learn their VLAN.   Shoretel phones do not.  This means the voice vlan statement is of no use.  But LLDP will work and it will provide the voice vlan to the phone.

So first set up lldp:

Lldp run
no lldp tlv-select power-management
network-policy profile 1
 voice vlan 20

Then configure the port with a macro, then apply the lldp network-policy.

interface GigabitEthernet1/0/1
description Data & Voice
macro apply cisco-phone $access_vlan 10 $voice_vlan 20
network-policy 1
lldp med-tlv-select network-policy

That macro uses the autoqos command as part of it.

After you run the command the port will look like this:

interface GigabitEthernet1/0/1
 switchport access vlan 10
 switchport mode access
 switchport port-security maximum 2
 switchport port-security
 switchport port-security aging time 2
 switchport port-security violation restrict
 switchport port-security aging type inactivity
 srr-queue bandwidth share 10 10 60 20
 queue-set 2
 priority-queue out
 mls qos trust device cisco-phone
 mls qos trust cos
 macro description cisco-phone
 auto qos voip cisco-phone
 spanning-tree portfast
 spanning-tree bpduguard enable
 network-policy 1
lldp med-tlv-select network-policy
 service-policy input AutoQoS-Police-CiscoPhone

Hope that helps.
