Office 365 "Flip the Switch"

I have already entered the CNAME Records, TXT Records and SRV Records to networksolutions. I have already migrated the emails to Office 365. So right now Office 365 has the same emails as the active exchange server.

Our client will keep using mailprotector as there spam filter. Not using Office 365 for spam filtering.

What is the next step a.k.a. "flip the switch"?

What do I do with the exchange server? We are running SBS 2008 that includes exchange 2007?

thanks in advance

You need to update the settings on mailprotector's side , basically enter the Office 365 smarthost URL as the delivery destination. You should really contact mailprotector support regarding this.

As for the local Exchange, simply disable the mailboxes for the time being, and let it run for a while until you are certain there will be no issues with missing email, etc. Then you can delete them if needed. For the actual removal, follow these steps:

ASKER

I spoke with Mailprotector and they said all I need to do is change the inbound/outbond mail setting and add the IP or host name of the mail server.
