GP 2010 -- Named Printers

We are on GP (Great Plains) 2010 in a Citrix environment and  having problems with user's default printers sticking. They are having to change the default printer each morning.  I set up named printers for myself -- I am SA ;however,  I can't get it to work or don't know how to do it for the other users.  Thanks!

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If this can be resolved via Citrix policy or registry as shown above, that would be best.

I can't speak specifically for Great Plains, but some applications do not let the printer stick because Citrix creates a dynamic printer name each time.  Although the user and printer name are the same each time, the dynamic assignment of the session ID differs each time, and some apps don't automatically designate the resulting default printer.  That may be why your users must designate it each time.

It is technically possible to script that via APIs, but that may be a bit painful.  I do not recommend trying to insert a static entry as the chances for a user session always being assigned the same number would be slim.
