I read an excellent article written by Stephen Toub entitled, “<a href="http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/cc163677.aspx" rel="ugc">Iterating NTFS Streams</a>”, and found it to be most helpful. The example code worked perfectly.<br />
<br />
I have however, been researching the subject in order to find a way of detecting an ADS within a directory (as opposed to a file). I know that it is possible but I cannot find anything authoritative on the subject and was hoping that someone on Experts Exchange may be able to point me in the right direction.<br />

Any information you may be able to share would be greatly appreciated.<br />

C# Alternate Data Streams (ADS) Directories / Folders

C# is an object-oriented programming language created in conjunction with Microsoft’s .NET framework. Compilation is usually done into the Microsoft Intermediate Language (MSIL), which is then JIT-compiled to native code (and cached) during execution in the Common Language Runtime (CLR).

An algorithm is a self-contained step-by-step set of operations to be performed. Algorithms exist that perform calculation, data processing, and automated reasoning. Starting from an initial state and initial input (perhaps empty), the instructions describe a computation that, when executed, proceeds through a finite number of well-defined successive states, eventually producing "output" and terminating at a final ending state. The transition from one state to the next is not necessarily deterministic; some algorithms, known as randomized algorithms, incorporate random input.

Algorithms

Programming includes both the specifics of the language you’re using, like Visual Basic, .NET, Java and others, but also the best practices in user experience and interfaces and the management of projects, version control and development. Other programming topics are related to web and cloud development and system and hardware programming.
