Raspberry Pi - FTP Server With GUI

Hi all

I am new to Linux. To start off I have purchased a Pi and what to setup a FTP server on this with a web GUI to allow me to manage it. Create users manage the folders etc.

Can anyone advise the best version of Linux to install and then the best FTP server and GUI.

Many thanks

Hi,

You can use the default Raspbian Distro then you can use ProFTPD. It has a GUI editor here:

http://proftpd-adm.sourceforge.net/index.php

This is not about distros. Any Linux distro would do this. Only Rasbian has lots of support and you might find ProFTPD and ProFTPDWeb already compiled and ready for install through the packet manager.

Cheers,
K.
