Open task manager and look at running processes and other details (cpu, disk usage, etc).
Right click on the taskbar, then select Task Manager.

You can use this utility to view all the running services and processes on your PC.

You can use the Task Manager also to check if you're low on memory. What you have described I think that you are low with your memory which causes Windows to use your hard drive for swap.

Can you tell me what Windows version you're running and the total amount of memory you have and the CPU model?

With this information we can help you more in detail.

When did you defragment your drive last.  If a long time ago or you do not remember, defragment it now.

I did it last weekend on both partitions.
I do see that your free memory is only 4 Mb. Which is strange since you only us around the 50%. I would suggest to run Memtest86 to see if you have memory issues.
OK, I´m going to do it in a few minutes and post the result.
No erros on memtest86
