Unless this has changed very recently, one of the advantages of using Citrix Branch Repeater is that it enables more detailed shaping of ICA traffic than the other vendors.  Branch Repeater reaches into Layer 6 (Presentation Layer) and enables prioritization and bandwidth control of the Citrix virtual channel groupings.  This may be beneficial for you, but if you use XenApp 6.5, you can inherently map the virtual channel groupings to TCP ports via multi-streaming policies and then just configure based on standard Layer 4.

Branch Repeater also professes the same for applications at Layer 7, but this is something you'd never want to use because you must disable session sharing.  Years ago, Cisco touted its NBAR (Network-Based Application Recognition) capability, which was very much like the Branch Repeater Layer 7 functionality, and no one used that either.
